Holistic Approach
The environment is shaped by geography and biophysical factors, by social, economic and political actions and policies. Environment Africa takes a holistic approach to environment management, recognising its actions must address all these factors.
 People are key to conservation
We are integral to the environment in which we make decisions, take action and live. The only way to effectively restore, protect and manage the environment is by working with people, building partnerships and mobilising change. Ethnical values and spirituality are essential for sustainability.
The African Way
African culture is dynamic, organic, and has much potential to help conservation and tackle poverty. For example, there are many traditional rules designed to protect and enhance watersheds and forests, and these could be used to help bring back balance to natural and social systems, combining traditional approaches with new ways of thinking and working.
Crossing Borders
Ecosystems do not sit neatly within single coutries, and many borders have been drawn along major natural features (such as the Zambezi River) thus dividing ecological zones. The environment is shared by all. Environment Africa works in a transboundary manner to safeguard natural resources.
